Cleopatra Oregano
Growing Cleopatra Oregano
‘Cleopatra’ is an award-winning oregano and 2015 All-America Selections Winner prized for its unique mild spice, peppermint-like coolness, and attractive silver-gray foliage. Compact trailing plants combine culinary usefulness with an ornamental appearance that fits beautifully into small-space gardens.
Start ‘Cleopatra’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ⅛ inch deep and space plants 8 to 10 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Its compact growth habit makes this variety especially well suited to smaller gardens.
Ready to begin harvesting in about 100 days, cut leaves or stems as needed once plants are established.
Mild, aromatic, and versatile, ‘Cleopatra’ is excellent for Mediterranean dishes, soups, sauces, roasted vegetables, drying, and everyday cooking.
